Civil Servants to be barred from having an open competition for posts of Under Secretary and Joint Secretary in Federal Civil Service

Kathmandu, September 6: Incumbent Civil Servants will be barred from having an open competition for the posts of Under Secretary and Joint Secretary in Federal Civil Service.

As per the new provision agreed at the meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance committee of the house of representatives, the incumbent officials will have to resign from their post if they want to apply for the post.

In the meeting of the committee today, the lawmakers have also agreed that the government hires undersecretary or joint secretary as an expert in the field after having an open competition called by public service commission.

The lawmakers have also agreed to let the incumbent first, second and third class officers to have internal competitions to come to province and federal system. Only 10% employees among hired ones can have promoted at once.

Meanwhile, for non gazette officers the inter government level competition can be to 50%.
