Kathmandu, August 12: International Youth Day has been observed today in Nepal as well with a theme transformation in education, entrepreneurship and new initiation.
Speaking at ‘National Youth Talent Honour and Youth Entrepreneur Conference’ in the capital marking the day today, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel said technical and vocational education should be prioritized to provide job opportunities to the youths.
He has stressed the need for providing practical education to youths for the development of the country.
He said the government should focus on education relating to production, labour and employment to stop the increasing brain drain of youths.
Likewise, Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bishwokarma viewed that youths should be mobilised for nation building as they are the backbone for development.
