Kathmandu, August 6: A bill on Madan Bhandari Science and Technology University has tabled in the meeting of House of Representative today. Tabling the bill Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel said the main objective of the bill is to set up the university to produce skilled human resources for the country.
Similarly, the house meeting unanimously endorsed a proposal seeking consideration on the amendments suggested by the National Assembly on the Land Use bill, 2075 BS. The proposal was tabled by Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma Kumari Aryal. Likewise, two bills received from the National Assembly have been tabled in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. The bills are ‘Evidence Bill (second amendment) – 2075 BS and National Sports Development Bill-2075 BS. Secretary of the HoR, Gopalnath Yogi tabled both bills.
Earlier Speaking in a zero-hour of house meeting, lawmakers including Nepali Congress Chief whip Balkrishna Khad and Nepal Communist Party Chief Whip Dev Prasad Gurung demanded relief and rehabilitations of landslides and flood victims followed by monsoon rain.
Likewise, lawmaker Dila Sangraula demanded fair investigation about the corruption in Biratnagar jute mill while Dilendra Prasad Badu drew the government’s attention over the delay in appointment of office-bearers of Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The House of Representatives will meet again at 11:00 am tomorrow.
