Minister Pun urges not to harbor any doubt on construction of Budi Gandaki hydropower project

Kathmandu, June 3: Minister for energy. water resources and irrigation Barsha Man Pun has urged not to harbor any doubt on the construction of Budi Gandaki hydropower project, the project of National Pride.

In today’s meeting of national concern and coordination committee meeting of the national assembly, Minister Pun said the project is in government priority and locals have full support in the construction of the project.

The government is not dwindling its 1200 megawatt capacity though rumors are that project’s capacity is being reduced. in the meeting, chairman of Gandaki project concern committee Dinesh Dhakal said the project would be carrying forward soon after distributing compensation to the locals.

On the occasion, the committee’s members voiced for taking the project ahead without impeding its works on any pretext.

After consulting with the concerned ministry and stakeholders, the committee has directed the energy ministry to take the project’s work ahead as per its DPR and conclude the remaining work of distributing compensation to the locals as soon as possible.
