Country observing International Yoga Day

June 21, Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has wished that Nepal’s traditional Yoga be made widespread to make everyone healthy and happy.

President Bhandari also wished that Nepal’s Yoga would inspire all to enliven Nepal’s national pride.

In a message of best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters at home and abroad on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, President Bhandari has expressed the confidence that Nepal could be a major destination for scholars to study Yoga and the Tantra related sciences.

President Bhandari also says that the relevance of Yoga has further increased for the physical and mental well-being at a time when the people have started developing mental issues due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The United Nations has declared every year June 21 as the International Yoga Day.

The International Yoga Day is being observed in and across the Country with the slogan ”Yoga for good health.”

The Ministry for Education, Science and Technology has stated that Yoga day will be observed virtually with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as the Chief Guest.
