Legislation Management Committee seeks suggestions from experts regarding the bill formulated to amend some Nepal Education Acts

Kathmandu, June 12: The Legislation Management Committee under the National Assembly has sought suggestions from experts regarding the bill formulated to amend some Nepal Education Acts.

Speaking in the meeting held at the Committee’s office in Sighadurbar today, Educationist Dr. Bidhyanath Koirala criticized the bill saying the bill is irrelevant as it has been brought without considering the federal structure of the country.

Similarly, another Educationist Dr. Man Prasad Wagle echoed Dr. Koriala’s version saying the bill has no relevance as it has flouted the constitution provision of a central and provincial university.

Most of the speaker in the meeting said the bill has been brought with an intention of keeping universities under government scrutiny rather than making them independent academic institutions
