Finance committee approves annual report of the committee today

Kathmandu, May 24: The finance committee of the House of Representatives has approved the annual report of the committee today.

Taking part in the meeting, lawmakers have stressed on the need of making the work of the committee more effective in the days to come, make the government comply with directives given by the committee and monitor about the implementation of the directives. The lawmakers have also asked to formulate standard work procedure along and charter as the meeting of the committee has been hampered due to lack of quorum.

Lamker Gyanendra Bahadur Karki said that the committee has initiated some new work and that should take a pace.

Likewise, lawmaker Ghanashyam Bhusal suggested having a separate committee to have minute study about the work effectiveness of the parliamentary committee. He said the lawmaker should be able to make up their salary as they are highly paid ones.

Meantime, committee chair Krishna Prasad Dahal said public expenses should be transparent and check the tendency of spending budget only towards to end of the fiscal year. For the same the government should be made more responsible and accountable though parliamentary process.
